Mars Major Period: Began Juy 17, 2001-2008

Mars is the planet of war and aggression, placed in the eighth house (upheavals and change, death and transformation) of the Palestinian chart. It is placed in the constellation of Purvabhadra which is symbolized by a funeral cot. It's nakshatra dispositor, Saturn is placed in the constellation of Mula which is associated with calamities and tragedies.

Interpretation:
The entire period of Mars will be a violent period of war and aggression for the Palestinians. As long as they remain in this period it is unlikely that any lasting peace will be achieved.

The following sub-periods will be particulary difficult and suggest an amplification of aggression, warfare, terrorist events etc:

Mars / Sun August 13, 2007 – December 19, 2007. The Sun is a fiery planet, placed in the third house (war) of the Palestinian chart. This period will increase the tendency towards general violence, bombing, and terrorist activity. The Palestinians will feel particularly threatened during the beginning of this period. There may be some sort of more pronounced losses due to attacks by their enemies during the first part of the period.

Mars / Moon December 19, 2007 – July 19, 2008. This period may ease tensions to some extent. This is a relative statement due to the incendiary nature of the previous sub period, so the period will still produce problems. This period may continue to produce emotional reactions among the public. There may be a greater emphasis on public health during this period as well.

Rahu Major period July 19, 2008 - 2026

Rahu is placed in the seventh house in Shatabhisha nakshatra. This placement will probably continue the tendency towards conflicts. In addition this period may produce an increased desire on the part of the Palestinians to collaborate with other Arab countries. During this period they may also seek further political acceptance and inclusion in world organizations such as the United Nations.
