The Transits of Rahu and Ketu

Rahu and Ketu also change signs in May. On May 2nd, Rahu will enter Scorpio and Ketu will enter Taurus. Both of these planets are debilitated in these signs, so they may produce some challenging results. In spite of the fact that Jupiter's transit in Aries is good news and may bring a supportive effect economically, Ketu passing through Taurus is more difficult and suggests continued economic uncertainties over the next 18 months.

In a recent conversation with Swami Sivanandamurty, a great saint from India, he expressed concern that Ketu's Transit of Taurus would be bad for the US economy. He said that he thinks that it will produce further problems and a downturn at some point. Ketu has 18 months to do this. however. I tend to think that at least while Jupiter is in Aries, which is the house of the stock market in the USA chart, that there will still be economic support. However, after Saturn goes into Libra in November, there may be more problems or possibly after Jupiter leaves Aries in May of 2012 I will talk more about the transit of Rahu and Ketu in the next few weeks.

The following is an interpretation of Rahu’s Transit of Scorpio for your individual horoscope based on your Vedic Sun sign. Apr 14 - May 14 (Aries) Rahu may produce a good deal of upheaval and change here. This is a good time to dive into various types of transformational activities, especially those that aim at releasing you from attachment, fear, obsession or addiction.

May 15 - Jun 14 (Taurus) Rahu is focusing on relationships. You may feel urgent, obsessed , or infatuated in the area of relationship. You may feel driven to be in relationship. Your partner may experience a sense of urgency in some area of life. Take a deep breath. Step back. Take it easy.

Jun 15 - Jul 15 (Gemini) Rahu is passing through your house of health. This is a good time to put positive energy towards your health through the use of alternative healing modalities. This transit can sometimes give hard to diagnose conditions or sub clinical symptoms that require alternative care. By working on your health in advance this may be offset.

Jul 16 - Aug 16 (Cancer) This period may promote creativity. It could also make you a little urgent about children, either as a desire to have children, or as a sense of urgency about children. It is a good time for studying any subject that is alternative, esoteric, or technical.

Aug 17 - Sep 16 (Leo) - This is a time that may promote changes in your environment. Rahu is transiting through the fourth house, the house of the home. You could feel urgent or obsessed to have a better place to live. Sometimes this transit brings change of residence. It almost always creates a sense of restlessness and a general desire to make changes.

Sep 17 - Oct 16 (Virgo) This is a great time for studying astrology, or any other esoteric subject. It is also a period that might draw your attention towards technology or simply get you surfing web. You might feel urgent or driven at times in the area of communications.

Oct 17 - Nov 15 (Libra) Rahu is affecting the area of money. You might feel urgent to earn more money. This transit also tends to create sense of urgency or obsession related to things that go through the mouth. Try to avoid addictive behavior regarding food, alcohol, drugs, etc. The best thing you can do with this transit is identify the thing you are addicted to and let go of it.

Nov-16- Dec 15 (Scorpio) During this period, you might have a desire to make personal changes. This is a period of redefining yourself. It is also a good time to work on the way that you interact with other people in your environment. This is also a good time to work on your body. Yoga, meditation, and other personal transformation activities are highly recommended.

Dec 16 - Jan 13 (Sagittarius) During this period there could be some travel, possibly to a foreign country. You could also find yourself spending more money than usual, so try to be somewhat prudent with finances.

Jan 14 - Feb 12 (Capricorn) Rahu is passing through your eleventh house. This period is good for achieving goals. You might find that you are urgent to finish projects or to make money. This type of ambitious energy usually results in gains and achievements, so Rahu is usually favorable here.

Feb 13 - Mar 13 (Aquarius) This is a period when there may be changes in your business or job. This doesn’t have to mean that you actually change jobs but Rahu’s revolutionary energy is acting upon your career, so some amount of change, either within the job or of the job may be indicated. It may also simply be a time when you are obsessed with projects and ambitious pursuits.

Mar 14 - Apr 13 (Pisces) Rahu is passing through your ninth house. During this period you may have a desire to travel. This is also a good time for studying esoteric subjects and alternative philosophies.
